Gloria J. Higgins’ role as CEO for Springboard Child Care is the culmination of a professional career that includes advocacy for early childhood, small business and family supports through business practices and public policy.  Springboard’s mission addresses a confluence of child care related issues:

• The lack of affordable child care;

• Frequent parental preference for home-based care;

• The general tenuous nature of home-based care;

• A challenging regulatory environment; and

• A widespread sense of isolation among home-based providers.

 

Gloria’s unique background allows her to translate best practices into action.

 

Gloria was recognized as a “CPA Making a Difference” by the Colorado Society of CPA’s and has been involved in the founding of multiple businesses. Each organization involved the multi-generation nature of families with an eye toward the youngest generation, the role of family finances, and skills that build self-esteem.

 

Gloria brings her private sector and civic engagement experiences to Springboard Child Care after serving on the board of directors for Focus Points Family Resource Center and the Denver Preschool Program. Most recently she was CEO for Executives Partnering to Invest in Children, an organization for business leader advocacy in early childhood with practical workplace and public policy initiatives that serve the interests of children, working parents and their employers.
